5/16″ and 8 mm Tubing are interchangeable as the size difference is 0.0024″ which is well with the size tolerance of the orings in the fittings.  The stock I have on hand is package marked 5/16 and tubing marked 8mm.  I verified this by testing actual tubing and fittings
